Just a few minutes from Lisbon by water, the Oeiras coast brings together a marina, a seafront promenade and some of the best beaches on the coast. It’s a perfect destination for a relaxed lunch — and even better when you arrive by boat, with no traffic and no parking. Here’s how to do it.

The Oeiras seafront — from the marina to the Passeio Marítimo and Praia de Santo Amaro — takes on a whole new dimension from the water: the Forte de São Julião da Barra, the coast opening out to the sea and the Sintra hills in the distance. Arriving by water means starting lunch with the best possible view.

On board, made to measure. We bring the table out onto the water: with chef’s food on board — petiscos, seafood or a menu of your choice — you have lunch anchored off the Oeiras coast, with just your group and no rush.

On land. If you’d rather, we plan the route so you have time for lunch by the marina or on the seafront promenade, then return to Lisbon by water.

Frequently asked questions

Can you go from Lisbon to Oeiras by boat? You can, and it’s quite close. We set off from Doca de Alcântara (Gate 3), in Lisbon, and within a short sail you’re off the Oeiras coast. The route is planned with you, because it’s always a private charter.

Can I add a swim stop to the lunch? Of course. The Oeiras coast has good beaches, and we can stop for a dip straight off the boat with Sail & Swim before or after lunch — the crew picks the best spot.

Is there catering on board or do we only eat on land? Both options exist. We bring the table out onto the water with chef’s food on board, or we arrange time for lunch by the marina and the seafront promenade.

How many people fit on the boat? The “Lusitana” catamaran carries up to 37 guests, always as a private charter for your group alone.
